Peter Roberts Retires after over 48 years with Watson Ramsbottom.

Senior Probate Executive Peter Roberts has this week retired, bringing to a close a remarkable 48 year career with Watson Ramsbottom.

At his own request, Peter left without fanfare. Whilst we would have loved to make a huge deal of such an achievement, Peter chose instead to leave in the same quiet, diligent and astute manner in which he served his clients in Darwen throughout multiple generations.

Having joined Watsons in 1977 as an office junior, Peter progressed to being an exceptional Private Client Lawyer. He handled Wills and Probate cases for thousands of clients throughout Darwen and the surrounding areas, often latterly assisting third or fourth generations of the same families.

“After an incredible 48 years with the firm, Peter retires as one of the longest-serving figures in our history. A career of this length and dedication is rare – and becoming even rarer – which makes his contribution all the more remarkable.

His calm expertise, particularly in the often personal and complex areas of wills and probate, earned the trust of countless clients and colleagues alike. Outside of work, his love of horse racing was a constant passion, always shared with quiet enthusiasm. His legacy is one that will be felt for many years to come.

He’s been a huge part of our story, and while we’ll miss him dearly, we’re excited for whatever the next chapter brings for him – hopefully with a few winning bets along the way!”
